Natura 2000 site: Site of Community Importance / Special Area of Conservation (EU Habitats Directive). Site ES0000213 "Serres de Mariola i el Carrascar de la Font Roja", 19,939 ha.

Natura 2000 site: Special Protection Area (EU Birds Directive). Site ES0000474 "Serres de Mariola i el Carrascal de la Font Roja (ZEPA)", 22,945 ha.

Protected habitats: Arborescent matorral with Juniperus spp. (2,992 ha); Pseudo-steppe with grasses and annuals of the Thero-Brachypodietea (2,194 ha) *; Quercus ilex and Quercus rotundifolia forests (1,197 ha); Endemic oro-Mediterranean heaths with gorse (997 ha); Calcareous rocky slopes with chasmophytic vegetation (798 ha). 15 habitat types listed for the site, 3 of them priority types (*).
